Job Responsibilities

Ongoing construction project with approximately 150-200 transports per day requires careful coordination of both incoming and outgoing traffic. We are now looking for 5-10 traffic guards for a comprehensive and long-term assignment in connection with the excavation phase and the transport logistics. The assignment starts on January 12.

The work involves a great responsibility for safety, order, and flow in the area. The work will initially take place during the day shift with four active stations, staffed by a total of four traffic guards at a time, which means that a total of six people are needed to cover the rolling schedule and substitutes. There is a possibility that the assignment will shift to two shifts if needed. The assignment is planned to last for six years, and you will be employed as a consultant at Posti for this task.

Job Responsibilities

• Traffic regulation on a single-lane road in close coordination with transports
• Manage time-controlled passage of vehicles according to given schedules
• Control of traffic lights via remote control in constant dialogue with other guards and machine operators
• Handling of walkie-talkie and ongoing communication within the work team
• Authorization control of vehicles and the right to refuse unauthorized persons
• Daily contact with drivers – sometimes involving discussions, which requires calmness, clarity, and also some authority
• One of the guards will take on the role of team leader
• Collaboration with the responsible logistics coordinator

Your Profile

Requirements

• Very good Swedish in speech and writing
• English – basic level
• Experience in communication via walkie-talkie
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions
• Ability to pass a security clearance (security-classified personnel)

Meritorious

• APV 1.1–1.3 and APV 1.4 (guard/pilot)
• Previous work as a traffic guard, pilot, machine operator, or in a traffic environment
• Experience from larger construction or infrastructure projects
